List of My top ten favorite songs
1 Jesus of Suburbia- Green Day
This is my absolutely favorite song for the simple reason that it is a ballad that never loses its edge even during the slow part. Many people see a nine minute song and think that it's just a drawn out song, but this song is really like  six in one. Credit goes to Green Day for making an excellent song like this for the public to listen to.
2 Never Been AnyReason- Head East
This is my favorite because it can capture the 1970's in one song about the Vietnam War, love, and freedom all in one song. The way all of the instruments are used give the song a good flow and a very good sound. It is my favorite classic rock song to date.
3Crossfire- Stevie RayVaughn
I love the way Stevie rips guitar solos and this song is no exception. This song is so melodically sound that the first time I listened to it I was tapping my foot along with the smooth bass and drum lines. The two solos that are in the song just blow me away because who knew sounds like that could come out of a fender stratocaster.
4 Lithium- Nirvana
My favorite Nirvana song and a hidden gem in the album "Nevermind". The way the song progresses from slow to fast is purely genius for their style of rock because it is just plain different. When people ask me to put a Nirvana song, this is the ones put on.
5 Sweet Child of Mine- Guns n' Roses
Slash is one of the most epic guitarists that has ever lived because along with his shredding solos he is very melodic. The multitude of simple effects on his solos make them shine in this song. Also Axl'svoice is unmistakeable and step brothers did an acapella version of the song.
6 Snow (hey oh)- Red Hot Chili Peppers
This song is extremely slow for RHCP but it works. The bass lines and guitar riffs help guide Kedis' voice. It is a modern rock classic that everyone should hear at least once
7 Paranoid- Black Sabbath
The iconic song from Black Sabbath that is the perfect example of crazy. Ozzy is one of the best vocalists of all time and his band is just purely amazing with the amount of music that they put out. 
8 The Trees- Rush
This song exemplifies Rush with all of the guitar, keyboards, bass, and drums. This is the song that to me explains Rush and their capabilities as a musician other than YYZ.
9 Smoke on the Water- Deep Purple
The iconic rock riff that every guitar player will learn has had a world record for amount of people paying at one time. This song is so simple but yet so intricate, this is the song I use to describe Deep Purple as one of metal's founding bands.
10 Another Brick in the Wall- Pink Floyd
This song is the 1970's version of grunge by basically saying forget the system. This song represents all that Pink Floyd stands for and deserves a spot on this list.
