Now this is my first music video review… so bare with me.
This is Rise Against’s Give It All and on YouTube it has over 2.5 million views. It is an excellent music video that has to do with many issues that we face today. The first thing you see is an equipment check for what appears to be a break in. then the video takes you to the band playing the song in a dirty subway car with many of their fans. Then a few passengers exit the car and start to do their work. One pair puts on a videotape of a riot onto the big television that is outside, while another writes on a McDonalds sign, “42 grams of HEART ATTACK.” Also a woman defaces a poster of a model advertising perfume, and at a zoo a sticker is shown saying, “I’ve spent my entire life trapped in a cage” on the tiger display board. Then these vandals turn out to be business men and women when they ditch their street clothes for suits and ties. After they enter the office, one of them puts the same sticker on the President & CEO’s sign on his door that was on the tiger display.
This music video showcases all of the hot topics in modern society like obesity, a world in uproar, etc. and this song is just plain awesome. The way the music was incorporated into the video helped the excitement and make key points. Overall this is one of the better videos that I have seen and I suggest you watch it.
I love Rise Against not only for there music, but for there creative vision in a lot of there music videos. Plus, this is one of my favorite songs by them too.
